Phonak is doing some creative marketing on YouTube, posting a video series that follows a deaf 20 year old as she tries out the Naida hearing aid. According to the video, she had not gotten enough benefit from other hearing aids until she tried the Naida. The video is captioned; some deaf people may be offended by one segment where the girl's parents are quoted as saying they were determined their daughter not use sign language as she grew up.

We have all heard the warning, "Don't put that cotton swab deep into the ear." The warning is for a good reason: if you damage your eardrum, you can lose hearing. I don't know anyone who became deaf from an ear injury. Do you?
