Well, that is a good question, I am a hearing mom of a deaf 10 yr old daughter. She is using ASL,which we love but, her reading is at maybe a 1st grade level. But they expect her to be doing better. How can she be??I do sign, i can have nice conver. with deaf adults but its not good enough to teach my daughter how to bridge the 2 languages. They have books in braille, other spoken languages why cant we have books in ASL,pictures with signs.or at least in asl words, word order?? hummm i wish i had and answer, maybe someday we will!! if anyone would like to give some advice i sure would appreciate that my email is jokrzgin@aol.com!!!
