ASL Classes: Survival of the Fittest?

Today's Christian Science Monitor reports in its article, "More College Students Sign Up for Sign Language," that while initial ASL classes are large, by the time students advance to the interpreting level, the classes are smaller. This reflects a natural weeding out of the merely curious and leaving the truly skilled signers.
