Interpreters Have Freudian Slips?

Wednesday February 2, 2005
Can an interpreter have a freudian slip? The other day at a meeting, the speaker said he was going to explain something. I saw the interpreter begin to sign, "go on and on and on" as if never stop talking instead of "explain"...the interpreter caught himself and quickly signed "explain" but I had already seen what I swear was a freudian slip. Have you ever seen an interpreter have a freudian slip?
