Black Market in Sidekicks?

Sunday February 26, 2006
Is there a black market in T-Mobile Sidekicks? That seems to be implied by this article from today's Washington Post, "Trio Robs Deaf Man Using Sign Language." The article refers to the theft of electronic e-mail devices, but we in the deaf community know that means a Sidekick. The DC police are asking the metro D.C. deaf community for any leads on these robberies. Considering that this group may also be responsible for two muggings on the "safe" campus of Gallaudet University, the D.C. deaf community has a vested interest in seeing these people caught.

The article mentions it was first reported by WRC Channel 4. A search of the WRC website turned up this video, "Gallaudet University Discusses Crime." (Sorry, no captions! Only sign language. We don't have captions on the internet). Another related article is "Gallaudet Students Address Safety Issues at University."

Bobby Cox has written an article about the robberies at DCIst.com.
