NTID's 2 + 2 Program

Wednesday August 30, 2006
I just read in the latest NTID Focus Magazine (not yet posted on the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) website) about NTID's 2 + 2 program. This program prepares NTID associate's degree students for the rigors of RIT. The article reports that the program began in 2003.

If only a program like this had been around long ago when I was a NTID student. I saw many NTID students unable to earn bachelor's degrees because they could not cope with the increased demands of RIT. Even I had a hard time with the vast difference between NTID and RIT back then...the shock was like going direct to high school from elementary school.
