Hi, I have a deaf friend who is 28 years old. Her mother had pulled her out of school at age 12 because of personal problems. Now she would like to return to school and learn to sign and possible go for GED. Can someone direct me? Where should she go???

(1) Carl Schroeder says:

Enroll her in a community college where they specialize in adult education leading to higher education. Courses in preparing her for GED as well as admission in the College. I have been teaching and coordinating programs in community colleges for the total of 12 years and they are outstanding.

If your friend resides the metero New York City area, she can enroll in LaGuardia Community College in Queens, NY. It has many excellent programs for young deaf adults of her caliber.
