Daughter Has Mondini. Implant?

Friday September 29, 2006
An About visitor wrote:
I am [from] Bangkok, Thailand. My daughter has a congenital hearing defect. Last month we contacted a surgeon for a possible cochlear implant but after a CT scan showed [she] has 1 1/2 cochlear turns the surgeon refused an implant. I've read in the Internet that there are implant recipients with the same case as my daughter but it seems here in Thailand it is a very rare case. Where can I get reassurance that an implant would be successful for my daughter? How can I contact other Mondini implant recipients?

I referred the About visitor to the article on Mondini syndrome, and also to the forum where people with Mondini often post.
