Deaf Blogger Profile: Dianrez

Sunday March 11, 2007
Now that the deaf blogosphere is so well established, I decided it was time to start profiling the bloggers themselves. After all, deaf (and some hearing) bloggers have become a new voice for the deaf community today, and are followed just as avidly as actors or politicians. Adding blogger profiles will serve multiple purposes:
  • Introducing people new to the deaf community to deaf bloggers. They can read the profiles and decide whose blog they would like to visit.
  • Help students. Students studying deafness, sign language, or interpreting are often assigned to interview actual deaf people or research them on the internet. Having blog profiles gives those students a quick and easy way to meet the assignment requirements.
  • Free publicity for the profiled blogs, and making people who otherwise might not read the blog, aware of what type of things are blogged about.
The first one to be profiled is Dianrez.

Are you a deaf (or hearing) blogger who blogs primarily about deaf-related topics? Would you like to be profiled on About Deafness? Send me an e-mail at deafness.guide@about.com.
