My name is Sidney. I would like to know if you have any advice for me. I am 83 yrs. old and a former singer and play actor from the 1940's in S. Africa. Since I've been deaf (1943) I have not performed. Are there any opportunities for someone like myself out there?

Try the senior citizens’ associations where you live. Many will have music or drama groups where you can test your skills and from there, try joining community theater groups where budding actors make the leap into professional theater.
Check the local colleges for drama courses or voice courses. Many times people who hope to go professional go to these programs to make initial contacts and to establish a local reputation.
If you are a member of the Deaf community, try the clubs for the deaf and ask if there are drama groups that they know of in your region. Sources of information could be NTID or Gallaudet College drama departments.
