RLM,

It’s based in Vancouver, BC Canada.

JSD has moved into a public school which remains in Vancouver, maybe late 80’s or early 90’s… I’ve never visited old campus but have visited new ones. With the new campus I’ve visited, it’s truly awesome place. I liked their classes period schedules!

There was series of sexual abuse occured in JSD in the past. After the move, it never happened again anymore.

thanks for the link – I have found some stuff through google. The abuse at Jericho started in 1945 and continued until 1990. The most talked about past of the abuse is during the 70’s and 80’s when students started to speak out about the abuse but were ignored by government officials and school staff for many years until finally someone started to listen and put a stop to the abuse in 1990. there are many awful details of sexual, physical and emotional abuse at Jericho. Lots of history. It is now a new place – its now called burnaby south school and south slope school – with residences at victory hill.

Many thanks, David and Shannon for enclosing the info regarding the Jericho School of the Deaf in British Columbia, Canada.

Too bad about the past sexual abuses of deaf students at the Jericho School of the Deaf. Those students don’t deserve anything traumatic. Thanks again for the info.
