From About.com Visitor: Actor Selected to Play Dummy Hoy

Update on the upcoming Dummy Hoy movie from the producer: "The actor that played Dummy Hoy was a kid out of California School for the Deaf Riverside, (CSDR). His name is Ryan Lane and he is GREAT! He even looks like William "Dummy" Hoy. Without having any acting experience , except a small part in a film made by the students at Riverside, He did a phenomenal job acting and took direction from me like a seasoned actor. Deanne Bray played Anna, Hoys wife, and she also took him under her wing the days she was there. Troy Kotsur played Dummy Taylor and inspired Ryan even further. I believe Ryan is a natural and should continue acting. I can't wait for everyone to see his performance. Everyone on the set loved him and I hope that I can continue to work with him and be a friend to him."
