In the News: A New Deaf Priest

A deaf man, Paul Zirimenya, has just been ordained a Catholic priest. Originally from Uganda, he lost his hearing as a young child. Interestingly, he is not the only deaf seminarian at the seminary. According to the article, the church is trying to increase the numbers of deaf priests.

On the Baptist side of things, there’s a number of deaf pastors out there. Louisville, KY, has the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary out there. I met a few of their deaf students when I was still living there.

They’ve got a hill out there that’s popular with the sledders during the winter.
