Giving Thanks for Deafness

Monday November 19, 2007
As we get ready to feast on the turkey, cranberry sauce, and other goodies, it is time to reflect on what we as deaf, hard of hearing, and people with deaf people in our families are thankful for. For some of us, it is our deaf children; for others, it is deaf spouses; for still others, it is technology. What are you thankful for?

Well, Jaime; I give thanks for a lot of things in my life; however, being deaf isn’t one of them. I am not happy/proud/thankful that I am deaf. I am not sad about it, either. It just IS. You have a nice holiday.

I agree with DT #1!
I am not thankful that I am deaf! Amen to that!
However, I am very thankful that I am blessed with a fabulous husband, a roof over our head, a car that’s almost paid off, a truck that’s paid off already, heat and air-conditioning, clothes, a heavenly bed, food, computers, televisions, pagers, family and friends, and lastly, I thank the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior! Amen!

And Happy Thanksgiving!
