Update on Progress in CI Recovery

Wednesday February 20, 2008
I returned to work yesterday (11 days after surgery. It would have been 10, but Monday was a holiday) - after a week in the house, I had cabin fever. Still a bit of vertigo, and my balance was still pretty much "off."

Today I feel about 90% recovered. My balance is definitely improving, and I'm so used to the slight vertigo now that I hardly notice it. My head is still sensitive to touch but becoming less so. My ear has gone from feeling like it would burst, to feeling like an earmold was stuck in it, to now feeling like a slowly deflating water balloon. Before it would burn inside, now it sometimes tickles. The ear is almost back to normal. Enough hair has grown back that no one really notices. The stitches behind the ear are already dissolving.

Now that my recovery is so far along, I can start looking forward to the activation date. Only a couple more weeks to go.

Cool… thanks for sharing your recovery with us.

Looking forward to hearing about your activation…. what it is like, different from hearing aids, etc.

I’m trying to read your original post on this topic (I missed it when first announced), but none of the links work. Can you check it? Your description here is so wonderful I want to read more!
