Just a Reminder - Marlee on Dancing with the Stars Tomorrow

Sunday March 16, 2008
It does not matter if Marlee wins or loses on Dancing with the Stars when it begins March 17. In my opinion, she has already won! Her appearance on Dancing with the Stars has not only gotten her tons of publicity, it has also made hearing people everywhere aware that yes, deaf people CAN dance. (Too bad I never learned how to really dance. In my college days, I just moved as best as I could.) Plus, last night when I was blogging, I came across an interesting tidbit: On the website of the Starkey Hearing Foundation, there is an announcement that Marlee was given very high powered hearing aids to help her hear the music. Even if she does not take home the trophy, the real winner of Dancing with the Stars will be Marlee Matlin, and everyone knows it.

Marlee Matlin will win! She will prove not only AGBell, CI Corporations, but also hearing parents that one does NOT have to be an implantée to win! Look at Percussionist Evelyn Glennie. She is not an implantée; yet, she was knighted “Dame” by the Queen Elisabeth II. She depends on a sense of touch by playing barefoot.

Let you know that the male contestants will dance on Monday and female contestants will dance on Tuesday. I’m sure there will be some clips on Marlee on Monday night. This information was quoted from Sanchez’s wife in today’s The Birmingham News. He’s the one who will be dancing with Marlee.
