Saturday April 26, 2008
Lettitia asks on the forum if there is any website that she can print the signs for words off of. She needs this to help her communicate with a deaf woman she works with.

There’s plenty of public domain sign language sheets that are printable. I am amazed as to knowing that too few of the established deaf organizations seems to be offering these freebies on their websites.

I’ve had some luck finding these things on ASLUniversity.com, not all, but some are printable. Try Gally too, they have some for kids that are esp. easy to copy and print.

I teach sign language to hearing pre-schoolers, and I recently purchased awesome software called “American Sign Language Clip and Create 4″ It costs $40 from www.idrt.com. I couldn’t find any decent printable signs online, but this software exceeded my expectations.

SignWriting is a remarkable tool, and is now used in schools and among deaf and hearing signers all over the world.

I higly recomend the website http://www.signwriting. org

From there, go to the American Sign Puddle, where you will find several thousand signs ready to print
