My hero used drugs?!
wow… well… i guess i can’t blame her; drugs are sweet and if you do them, people think you’re cool.
Maybe she was referring to sex addiction?
Not surprising! Almost everyone tries certain drugs and have consume alcohol and what have you’s. This should not even be a shock to anyone! We need something more scandalous to get the book to sell!
My guess on MM’s poison would be Cocaine.
Or, will she write about her turbulent relationship with William Hurt?
Maybe she was addicted to chocolate! LOL!
Marlee is a wonderful woman….. who hasn’t had issues and struggled to deal with them.
She has been a wonderful rep for the deaf and hearing community. She gets out there and is herself …….. loved her on Dancing!
I agree with roseais. “who hasn’t had issues and struggled to deal with them”. For those who chose to make jokes about her confession about an addiction, you may want to think a bit more before lashing out like that.
Wow. I’m amazed - seriously - that a person who works as hard and continuously as she has ever had time to be addicted to anything.
We all fall short one way or another.
My guess would be Marlee took marijuana and/or cocaine.
It doesn’t matter what she was addicted to. What matters is that she is human and that we tend to put people on pedestals and when they “fall”, we blame them for not being perfect.
To those who are supposing what she was addicted to, would you like people making judgments about your obsessions, flaws and addictions?
I didn’t think so…
Based on a research on deaf individuals with alcohol and substance addictions, there are about 5,105 deaf crack users, 3,505 heroin users, 31,915 deaf cocaine users, and 97,745 deaf marijuana users! This research was dated back to 1994, which means that the numbers are higher now. I am a deaf addiction counselor so that’s how I got all of this information. Best of luck to Marlee and her continued successful recovery.
Uh… ehem, addiction to what? It doesn’t mention exactly. Abuse from what or who? I will have to read it first before processing in my head. No one is perfect ever
because it makes each of us unique and less boring.
I love Marlee!! Such a wonderful idol / role model to look up to! I’m so excited to read about her life since I read her three books so far & I know a lot of the stories are based on her childhood experiences, it will be so great to read her own account and stories about her past and life before stardom.
If i had to guess, my guess would be she was probably addicted to some kind of pain killer cause I read in one of her interviews that she had a few painful pregnancies.
But of course, it doesn’t matter what she was addicted to. She will always be lovable Marlee!
i love her!
