Inuit Sign Language

Thursday September 25, 2008
A multi-year project in Canada is working on documenting the native Inuit sign language, along with the development of a DVD. As reported by the Nunatsiaq News, this project is supported by the Nunavut Department of Culture, Language, Elders and Youth (CLEY) and the Department of Justice in Canada. A president of the Canadian Deafness Research and Training Institute, Dr. Jamie MacDougall, is championing the project.
