It is just a short article in the Aurora Sentinel, but the subject grabbed my attention. A deaf pet groomer's clients were "stolen" from her by supervisors and coworkers who lied to her clients by telling them that she did not work at the pet store. A lawsuit about the case was filed last week by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, so the outcome will likely be reported on the website of the EEOC. I checked the EEOC website, but could not find the details on this case probably because it is too recently filed.

This lady might do better to start her own pet grooming business.
Now that the videophone is available, it is easier for deaf businesses to make their own bookings.
Add to that an email address, a website with full information about the business, and a place to do business (perhaps in the home? or arranged with a friend?) and she has a beginning.
I am not surprised she is sue to Petco. I agree with Dianrez,
Deaf worker can have a became owner of grooming it is not that hard. It is really easy and hope she get a awards which the Petco is lying to her. Consideration she did received a discrimination by Petco.
I applauded her for doing to against EEOC.
Dianrez is good suggestion and I like her to suggestion to became owner of business.. She can have a SSDI, Social Security Disabilities Incomes and use 20 hour a week to use her own business. Why not! if she win the case you can start your own business.
WHY NOT! Cross my finger for her.
I am a deaf groomer too. I had a similar situation at PETsMART. They would put me last with appts. They schedule themselves dogs before me. They even tried to schedule them dogs that was my regular dogs. The owners asked for me! I finally left after 8 years of working there. I have my own business now with grooming dogs and I am so much happier. I feel for that woman. I know exactly how she feels…
it is really sad when people do this. the Bible says this is wrong. Read Leviticus 19:14
