Deaf Child Slave

By , About.com Guide   December 10, 2009

Follow me on:

AsiaOne News has a story about a deaf child slave in Bangladesh. The article calls him a "labourer," but also uses the word "master," making it clear it is slavery. The boy is only seven years old and is referred to as deaf and dumb (obviously no education). Illustrated with pictures of the boy being hit on the face by his "master."

BOY! I thought slavery was long gone:{ Something should be done for the boy. The man should be slapped into the middle of next week! I don’t believe the government will do anything to help this child, or any of the others, unless it involves the police.

Saddened for the boy I wonder if American’s could legally adopt the child or buy his freedom, and teach him ASL, with a loving Deaf family?
