Recently I was asked by someone unfamiliar with cochlear implants, if I had a hole in my head. This person thought I had a real hole, open, that could be plugged into like a socket. My initial reaction was to laugh at the question, then I realized that is probably what many hearing people think about those of us with cochlear implants.
Have you been asked this question, and what explanation did you give?

Good question. I’m about to receive a Baha implant soon.
I only hope it’s as good as they claim. I’m both nervous and excited about it. The demo made me hear things much better. Can’t wait.
