New Zealand Gets a Deaf MP

By December 10, 2011

Follow me on:

New Zealanders have elected their first deaf MP to Parliament. I don't know what a MP is, but it sounds similar to a Congressman. The winner, Mojo Mathers, describes herself as a strong advocate for disabled people.

Has the United States ever had a deaf Congressman or Congresswoman? I'm not aware of any historically.
