Does Having Meningitis Increase Risk of Implant Failure?

A new study of children who had cochlear implants found that seven out of 35 children whose implants failed, had had meningitis. The good news is, after the children got new implants, they did well. That study is published in the December issue of the Archives of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.
