Jack Gannon's classic book "Deaf Heritage" should be required in every deaf person's household. Although it is now outdated, this well-organized book has a comprehensive overview of deaf history/heritage.2. Crying Hands
Book about how deaf people (Jewish and others) were treated by the Nazis. Very scholarly and rich with detail.
3. A Place of Their Own: Creating the Deaf Community in America
Book recommended by About Deafness visitor.
