Here's How:
- Join a discussion list on a topic of interest Discusion lists
- Read and post to message boards or forums
- Attend meetings of local deaf organizations or join them
- Chat in deaf/hoh chat rooms
- Volunteer at a school for the deaf in your area
- Go to or join a deaf church in your area Religion
- If there is no deaf church, consider contacting a deaf missionary organization Deaf missionaries
- Take a sign language class Finding sign classes
- Take deaf studies classes at a local college Deaf studies
- Even if you are not a member of the sponsoring organization, consider attending a conference of a large deaf/hoh organization
- Join or attend meetings of local sign language clubs Sign language clubs
- Go to a silent or signing supper or asl dinner Signing suppers or try a deaf coffee chat
- Travel - there are tour groups and cruises just for deaf and hard of hearing people.
