Poem - Us

From Alice L. Marsh

Although I can't hear nor speak
The way you think I should
I would like to talk to you
The only way I could
You see I talk with my hands
And also with my eyes
Expressions you have on your face
Helps me to realize
The things that you are saying
When you talk to me
I know it's hard to understand
The way it has to be
I know it will be easier
For us to talk someday
If we both are patient
And Help along the way
We will talk together
And both of us will say
Our hands keep us together
As we sign today.
