Suggestions for a Good Chat Time

* If no one is here, wait awhile and someone will probably come in! You can stay in the room quietly for as long as an hour without timing out.

* If you"meet" someone you like and feel comfortable with in the chat room, consider exchanging e-mail addresses or instant messaging names/numbers and arranging to meet again in the chat room at a time/date convenient for both of you.

* Looking for people who share your deaf/hoh topic interests? Consider posting messages with the topic and time/date you want to chat, in the Signs of Friendship folder on the About: Deafness forum at http://forums.about.com/ab-deafness/start

* If you know a lot of people who want to talk about the same topic, consider becoming a chat host. As a chat host you will get your own password. Contact your guide for further details.
