What is Beltone:

Beltone is a hearing aid (or hearing instrument) manufacturer that has been around since the 1940s. Beltone started in 1940, when Sam Posen developed a hearing aid for one of his friends. Now Beltone is a large international company currently owned by GN Resound Group, which is based in Denmark.

Beltone Highlights:

Highlights of Beltone manufacturing include their first behind-the-ear hearing aid, which arrived in 1958. The first digital hearing aid appeared in 1998.

Beltone Models:

Today Beltone produces every make of modern hearing aid, including wireless hearing aids, receiver in the ear type, and completely in the canal. As of 2011, the company had a line of 11 different models. Advanced Beltone hearing instruments have features such as a special coating to protect the instruments from moisture and particulates. Some also have a feature that helps users cope with tinnitus by generating low levels of white noise.

Buying from Beltone:

Beltone is a company with hearing aid offices, usually known as Beltone Hearing Aid Centers. These offices and centers can be found via a locator feature on the Beltone website. People interested in Beltone hearing aids can download and fill out a hearing health assessment before visiting a Beltone office.

At a Beltone office, people can get a hearing screening. The results of the hearing screening will be explained, and different models of hearing aids demonstrated. Once the customer buys a hearing aid, the hearing aid is fit and programmed in the Beltone office.
