Brief History:
Originated in 1945 as American Athletic Union of the Deaf. Became American Athletic Association of the Deaf, and finally the USA Deaf Sports Federation (1997).
Role of USADF:
Parent organization of U.S. deaf sports organizations. Coordinates international participation of American deaf athletes. Affiliated with the United States Olympic Committee.
Publications of USADF:
Publishes the USADSF Bulletin (formerly the AAAD Bulletin).
Affiliated Organizations of USADSF:
Sports organization affiliates include aquatics, baseball, basketball, bowling, cycling, volleyball, and more. Regional sports organizations include Central Athletic Association of the Deaf, Eastern Athletic Association of the Deaf, etc. The affiliates tend to have their own websites.
USADSF Event Calendar:
The USADSF website has an event calendar that lists all USADSF coordinated events, such as Deaflympics training camps, individual sports competitions, sports clinics, team tryouts, and deaf sports camps for children.
