Disposable Hearing Aid Question

Saturday January 14, 2006
A few years ago there was a company, Songbird, that made disposable hearing aids. They no longer do. Are disposable hearing aids available today from any other company? Has the concept of disposable hearing aids been a total failure?

(7) Jack says:

Disposable hearing aids are pieces of junk. I bought a pair of Songbirds a few years ago and they sounded like CRAP! I figured in the cost of buying a new pair every two months like the Miracle Ear people suggested and it was easily twice as much as if I just bought a pair of custom hearing aids. Disposable hearing aids probably aren’t around anymore for a very good reason.

Songbirds worked great for me. Just a small in canal aid, Use the expensive custom stuff now but would have stayed with SB if not fiscontinued.

i was just on songbirds website, and they do still sell them, i have otosclorosis and use to use them and they worked fine for me. After a recent visit to the audiologist they told me they didnt make them anymore and tried to sell me a 3,000 dollar hearing aid. So i am glad to learn that they make one that i can actually afford.

(12) Bill Angel says:

Be careful of Martin Audo They advertise as a company with a human touch. The part they touch is your pocket book. Don’t let their long Dr’s coats fool you. They are hearing aids people that could sell Automobiles.
I am sure they have helped many people but they refused to work with me.
PS Don’t make a decision in the office read the fine print. They will chrge you $ 1000. for a return within 30 days. they won’t give you a refund after 34 days for any reason.
