Captioned Radio Coverage of Presidential Election

From Jamie Berke, About.com GuideOctober 20, 2008

Follow me on:

On Election Night, no need to park yourself in front of the television. You can sit at your computer and follow a live, captioned radio report! Both National Public Radio's website (www.npr.org) and Harris (www.harris.com) will be airing displaying the captioning transcript. Plus, people with high definition radios will be able to follow the captions. Watching to see who was elected on television? How quaint.

Suh-weet!

I wish that live captioning were more sophisticated than just having a typist/transcriptionist though. I really look forward to better voice recognition technology to automate this, making it easier for people to add accessibility.
