Will 2009 Be the Year of Captioned Radio?

Thursday November 13, 2008
Tests of captioned radio during the elections were a resounding success, according to a press release published in the International Business Times. Surveys of deaf and hard of hearing people participating in the tests of captioned radio showed that the majority would eagerly buy caption-capable radios. I myself would love to have one to watch/listen in the car or on the subway train.

Does anyone know if radios work in the Washington, DC subway tunnels? I know cell phones (if they are not Verizon) do not, but what about radios?
