Majority of British Soldiers Deafened

Monday December 21, 2009

Most British soldiers who go to fight in Afghanistan, are returning with hearing losses. The news source reports that almost 70 percent of more than 1,200 soldiers returned with severe hearing loss. If that's what's happening with British soldiers, I wonder how many American soldiers are returning from Afghanistan and Iraq with hearing loss?

This really should not be happening, our deaf program SEE HEAR did a news item where the armed forces were all issued with ear protectors. There were percieved problems in the field of them not being able to communicate effectively, so unfortunately a lot didn’t use them despite their effectiveness. They could hear their orders and CO, not each other or something.
